The AR 9021 motor brake unit is used for DC braking of three-phase induction motors up to 4 kW at 400 V. The braking current I ;sub>B ;/sub> and the braking time t ;sub>B ;/sub> for the motor brake unit can be adjusted. When braking, the following functions run consecutively: when the motor contactor is switched off, the internal braking contactor is switched on, after a fixed safety period, for the duration of the adjustable braking time and the braking current flows through the stator winding. The operational voltage is connected to terminals L1-L2 and the locking contact for the motor contactor closes. A red LED indicates that the supply voltage is connected. The motor can be started via the ON button. The DC braking voltage for the stator winding is tapped from terminals T1 and T2 (device compliant with VDE 0106 part 100 and VBG 4).
